In recent decades, corporate social responsibility has been receiving a great deal of media attention around the world due to its effects on environment and socio-economic. Although maximizing profits is always the top priority of corporations, they should also implement social responsibility.

Corporate social responsibility can help businesses to realize the kind of impacts they are having on all aspects of society, including environment and economy. First, since a great deal of companies, especially mining coporations, dispose of wastewater into the environment, if these wastewater cannot be treated properly, it will negatively affect public health, such as digestive disease and skin one. Second, since natural resources are limited, in order to ensure sustainable development, coporations are required to comply with laws. In fact, a lot of tuna fishing companies has been broking the fisheries law by overfishing, which puts tuna industry at the risk of collapse.

There are also many benefits for corporations if they practice corporate social responsibility. First, in order for businesses survive and develop, diligent workers are an indispensable factor of companies, so they should have incentives to encourage their employees’dedication. For instance, by building domitories for workers, Samsung corporation helps its employees save a lot of time to travel to workplace, improving labours’ health and productivity. In addition, If a company can ensure production quality control, it will supply high quality products to market, protecting customer health. This will lead customers to purchase more products from the company, as the result, it will achieve higher profit.

In conclusion, besides making money, the fundamental principle of business, companies should focus on social responsibility. It not only benefits society as a whole but also enhances reputation as well as revenue of businesses.
