the chart below gives information on the percentage of British people giving money to charity by age range for the years 1990 and 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compares the proportion of British people in terms of donation by five age group in two years 1990 and 2010.

It is clear that people aged 36 to 50 and 51 to 65 accounted for the largest proportions of British people giving money to charity, while the figure for 18-to 25 year-olds was smallest. In 1990, there were more people of Britain making contributions to charity than those in 2010 (except for people aged 51 or over).

In 1990, over 30% of the 26-35 age-group and the over 65s made charitable donations, while the figures for people between 36 and 50 reached a peak, at 42%. The percentage of 51-to 65-year-olds donating money to charity was two times as high as that of people aged 18 to 25, 35% compared to 17%.

The number of 18-to 25-year-olds who donated money to charity fell to its lowest point, at 7% in 2000. A similar trend applied to contributions of the 26-35s and the 36-50s, falling to around 24% and exactly 35% respectively in 2000. By contrast, the level of donations from the 51-56 age-group experienced an increase, from 35% in 1990 to nearly 40% in 2000. Likewise, the figure for the over 65s reached at 35% by 2000.
