Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Other believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future such as those related to science and technology.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

There are a wide range of academic areas for students to choose to study at university. While some people argue that such subjects should be restricted to those which will be useful in the future such as science and technology, I believe that all educational institutions should allow their students to study anything they want.
There are several reasons why many people support the idea that university students should only study some certain subjects. Firstly, it can help them guarantee a secure job with a relatively high salary. Those jobs related to science and technology meet the demand of today's society. Secondly, forcing people to study some particular academic fields is likely to contribute to substantially reduce the national as well as local unemployment rate. This is not surprising because human resources would be distributed suitably to sectors which are in real need. Finally, focus on science and technology could lead to new invention, economic growth and greater future prosperity.
On the other hand, I believe that students should have full right to choose any subjects they like to study. They dedicate to learning not only to earn a living after graduate but also to fulfill their own dreams. I doubt that they hardly try their best unless they do what they desire. Besides that, the diversity of academic life could be maintained and developed. The favorable conditions would nurture and improve the creativity of university students, which is a necessity for national education growth.
In conclusion, although universities offer courses which might be useful for the society in the future, I personally believe that such subjects should not be compulsory for students to study.
