Topic: The best curriculum is not one based on a static body of knowledge, but one which teaches students to cope with change.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is the fact that people are living in a knowledge-based society, therefore that how to educate students has always been a topic of interest. While some argue that students should follow a curriculum which helps them to deal with changes, I maintain that knowledge studied from the traditional module is also beneficial.
On the one hand, the argument that the best curriculum is one helping students solve practical problems is attractive for some reasons. Our society is leaning towards providing learners with comprehensive education instead of traditional form of obtaining knowledge, which results in the fact that more and more tutors are teaching their students how to cultivate their soft skills and enrich their experiences in order to empower them to solve their issues more easily by lateral thinking, not by linear thinking. The more practical knowledge students are taught, the more types of difficulties they can face in their lives.
On the other hand, I emphasize that a brick-and-mortar module curriculum also brings many benefits to students. A bulk of companies, factories, and organizations still constitute formal qualifications a key feature deciding and asserting the level of abilities, range of knowledge, and skills of individuals. Because of the fact that those certificates stem from theoretical knowledge one obtains rather than implicit knowledge, it is inevitable that students had better pursue the old form of formal education so that they can embark on learning how to mind basically.
In conclusion, although the module of learning that helps students improve their practical skills is advantageous, the traditional module offering them elementary knowledge also needs to be appreciated.
