An open buffet
for monkeys


Every year, all monkeys that reaches nearly 600 all around
Thailand's Provinces are invited to come an open buffet of fruits and
vegetables. This buffet is opened yearly by Rama who is a mythic hero, he
rewarded the king of the monkeys because it helped him in one of his battles,
after that, the day has become an annual celebration which the Thais volunteer
fruits and vegetables to feed the monkeys, returning the kindness for them. Three
tons of fruits and vegetables are used in this festival buffet. The streets and
yards of Lola-bi Thai city is converted into buffets and an open tables for the
monkeys when they celebrate the version of twenty-one of the annual monkeys
festival which is regularly done since 1988. This annual festival has been
become the most important local events which attract groups of tourists to the
city in order to watch an exciting festival which is done specially as an expression
of gratitude to the monkeys for the role that it contributes for the promotion of
tourism for the city.
