Help me by correcting this sentence if it is wrong
I would like to know if the following sentence is grammatically correct. And/or if there is an alternate way to write it to make it sound better. One of my colleagues said that she could not understand the below given sentence and it is incorrect. It looks correct to me. So I want to get the help of experts. Pls look at the sentence below and comment. Thank you.

...although, if you are not going to say "I request you" it might be polite to put "Please" instead.... so: "Please make sure that the contact information in your outlook address book is current"
