Introduction On February 2011, Ms Emily Brown the lecturer of Public Relations 1A, at Polytechnic of Namibia (PON), requested the Public Relation 1A Students to launch a survey on which course (field of study) students at Polytechnic of Namibia (PON) applied for.
I estimated that almost 50% students are applied for Bachelor of English and 50% students applied for Bachelor of Information and Technology (IT). According to a student studying towards a Bachelor of English almost students who study toward above mention course are not applied for that but forced to choose for it due to limited place in the courses they applied to
The report, with appropriate recommendations is to be submitted by 17 March 2011.

Findings Most students at Polytechnic of Namibia (PON) are not studying toward the course they have applied for. Science field are very limited in the Institution and many student have applied for it. Almost 50% student females are doing Bachelor of English and 50% Males students are doing Bachelor of Information and Technology (IT) in Polytechnic of Namibia (PON). Many students are not happy with the limited science courses in the PON.
Summary of the Results Most students applied for science field of study, but only few have admitted at the science courses, because places in that field of study are very limited in Polytechnic of Namibia.
According to the interviewees, student did not go for what they applied for, because they fail placement tests and some they do not meet the requirements to be admitted into the field (Example some get 30 points but, according to Polytechnic’s placement they should have at least 35 points to be admitted).
At polytechnic of Namibia most students are registered at the full time mode of study.
Most students’ fees are paid by the government of Namibia.
According to both interviewees, they mostly wanted to study towards bachelor of Bio Medical and they are very much disappointed to the limited places in those courses in Polytechnic of Namibia.
They choose to study at Polytechnic of Namibia, because it offering a quality education and it is the best institution in the academic records.
Conclusion In conclusion only few students admitted to the field of study they applied for due to lack of place and most students fail they placement test and they loose they place and some registered on full time study. Final most students’ fees are paid by the government loan and Polytechnic of Namibia is offering a quality education according to interviewees.
Recommendations I want Polytechnic of Namibia to increase places in the science fields so that most students should be admitted in course where they applied for. Polytechnic of Namibian should also not ask the difficult questions towards placement test, so that most students should pass that placement test and study towards the course they applied for towards they career.
The polytechnic of Namibia should put more effort academically and they have to improve and increase the educational system and give quality education again.
