Since "clean" is an adjective, it doesn't mean much. You probably know what "to give a cleaning" means.

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.

to give a clean - what does it mean

In my idiolect, 'a clean' is an informal word for 'a cleaning'.
eg
Me: The toilet is dirty.
My wife: Well, you're not helpless, give it a clean.

Best wishes, Clive

I think I've heard that, but my wife knows better than to ask me, and I really know better than to ask her!.

Edit. Maybe "a quick clean."
