What's the difference between be exposed to and be put in touch with?

Top answer

I would say that be exposed to is more often used of bad things like cholera and violence on TV (although we can also be exposed to good influences, I suppose). Be put in touch with is usually used of nice and cuddly things: She put me in touch with my long-lost twin brother / my inner feelings / the 21st century .
