Help in writing CV

Question

Hallo, It's a bit late for me to join this forum. I've just known that this cool forum exists.
Unfortunately I have to handout my application letter for a master program that include CV and letter of motivation due to tomorrow. Is there someone willing to help me tonight?

I will be online in 4-5 hours, when I arrived home.

First of all, I'm a little bit confused how to start a good CV.

Hi Ahun,

Please and see point 5. You'll note in the referenced post that there a couple of commercial services. You might find those to your benefit if you are in an extreme position.

When you leave things to the very last minute, you put yourself in a difficult position.

If you able to get an extension and want to post your stuff here, I am sure someone will review and give you some comments.

Thank you for your reply. As I said, I have just found this forum today and I'm lack of time..
But I know I can't expect that my cv and letter of motivation could be helped or edited just by one night. Who have so much time anyway

Well, I have read some posts and have tried to make my own with the examples.
I'll review my work later as soon as I got home. And hopefully you or someone else can still help me.

“To be a consultant in finance and accounting institution”

Two things: 1) I wouldn't put it in quotes, and 2) I don't think you want to be an accounting institution. To be a consult for a financial company or an accounting firm. If it were me, "To be a financial consultant serving large corporations." It is sufficiently vague yet it also means you don't want to be doing tax returns for mom and pop companies.

Your work experience should be strengthened. What does "contribute to plausibility" mean? That whole area should be strengthened.

On your skills section, I would downplay the MS Windows stuff. Everyone can do that. I would emphasize more your international skill set such as languages and cultures.

what do you mean by international skill set? which side of culture can be considered as skills?

You know how to function in different cultures. You know what to do to impress people in China. You know what is polite and what is rude. You know how to be aggressive without offending. Knowing how to function within different cultural environments is a tremendous benefit.

And the last question: do I have to sign the CV?

No. You don't sign CVs.

I think you need to dress that up somewhat. "Contributing" to quality checks doesn't mean much to me. I don't know your job, but I think you have to create something more subtantial.

Well, exactly my tasks are quite simple. I'm just a data entry person. If the data already in the DataBase, we have to make sure, that those data validate with the source.

at the Skills area.

Is there any difference between CV according to US style and European style?

I would NOT use "strong personality" as that often means you are difficult to get along with.

CV, there is NO ONE correct way. Different people write their CVs differently.
