Help in understanding the sentence for the right word

The researchers set up a series of experiments in which volunteers eye-movements (19 atracked – bwere tracked) while they watched a nature documentary. The study showed that, even when the volunteers fast-forwarded ads, they could be influenced by brand images that appeared for only a fraction of a second in the center of the screen. Each brand image appeared on the screen for no more than a third of a second, so viewers concentrated on the center because it is difficult to keep ( a move – b to move – c moving) one’s eyes to the edges and back.
