Help in Evaluating for Fashion Institute of Technology Entry Essay
I'm a person of very few words. It's not that I'm shy, but that I express myself visually. Drawing or doing something shows my feelings in a way deeper than words can. Reading peoples faces, body language, and feelings are easy for me because of visualization. I may be a four-eyes but I can still see in a funky way. This makes me weird, random, and nonconformist but dedicated to the objectives I set myself. In my freshman year of high school I signed up for soccer regardless of my weight. I went to every practice and game, but the coach never put me in. I stayed there until junior year when I joined track and field doing shot-put. With all that I was still a member in my art club. I would go down to the art department whenever I had lunch or study hall to work on murals to decorate the high school. As an artist I am always sharpening my skills, and as a person I'm always learning. Animation is my passion. Ever since I saw Shadow Ops: Red Mercury, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I then set out on a journey to become a respectable animator. I may take things slow but I never give up. I will never forget the day my typography professor told me to watch Fight Club to show me that McDonalds wasn't a career and that if I don't work hard I won't get anywhere. Animation to me is art and problem solving because problems always arise when I'm modeling. It also gives me a god complex because I'm creating something out of nothing and creating a world or objects to my liking. Knowing what you want makes you determined and I want a BA in animation. That I once missed three classes due to surgery, came back, did all my work, and got the project done on time shows how determined I am. Since then I was early for class. When I want something I make it a priority, putting all focus to get it. Fashion Institute of Technology will see the firestorm brewing within me to succeed.
