I would really like to see the complete sentences in context, Anon, at least for your first problem-- both seem possible in specific situations. For the second, experience in is the normal collocation.

I am a third year student at CUST in Clermont-Ferrand, France (see my CV

attached) and I must complete my studies with a five months work placement (02/01/06 to

06/30/06).

I would like to carry out this work experience with a placement in your company

next year. I am particularly interested in your type of business, as it corresponds with

what I would like to do on a professional level in the future. What’s more, having the

opportunity to work in an English-speaking country could only be beneficial.

I am a determinated person: I have some experience in planning and developing

projects and therefore I really think that I would be of use to your company. One more

important thing is that I am very sensitive to human relationships.
