HELP, IELTS WRITING TASK 2

Far too little has been done to prevent animals and plants from dying out although people have noticed this problem for a long time. Why do people failed to improve this situation? What are your suggestions?

Although there are a significant number of campaigns for wildlife protection, what we are doing now is proved to be far from from enough to stop the extinction of many species despite early addressing the problem. Below will come major reasons for this issue and some of my proposals to get us out of the situation.

There are two main factors accounting for our current failure in protecting many creatures. Firstly, governments and organizations have been wrongly orienting their environmental programs. Instead of calling for help from the public, most of the important activities are only conducted among a small group of people, regardless of the fact that this is a global issue involving everyone in the world. Secondly, the legislative system has not acted efficiently. Often, the benefits brought by poaching endangered animals or cutting down rare and valuable trees are much larger than the punishment for doing so which is determined by laws. As a results, there is little threaten for many greedy people to break rules and harm the environment for personal profits.

Urgent actions, therefore, should be taken to tackle this worrying matter. On the one hand, campaigns and programs aiming at preserving endangered species should focus on educating people and convincing them to join by giving actual opportunities. Not only should government spend more budget on this area but it should also create rewarding policies to encourage public participation. On the other hand, stricter laws have to be imposed to make every harmful move against the ecosystem become too costly to handle.

In conclusion, it is alarmingly obvious that a number of fauna and flora are now on the edge of being erased from the earth, mainly due to wrongly oriented programs and ineffective legal restrictions. However, I firmly believe that if we make a wiser approach to this problem by involving more common folk and bettering the impacts of laws, the future of many species in the wild will be more promising.
