The map illustrates how west park secondary school have been modified from its original appearance in 1950.
Overall, the area maintains its size and the main road running past the school. Some elements that have only been through light adjustments include the main building and the playground without reposition.
During the period from 1950 to 1980, the houses on the left side of the main building in the school were pulled down to give space to the construction of a science block and a car park. Meanwhile farmland was converted completely into sports field, which was next to the playground.
The school continued to witness variations in its settings from 1980 to 2010. Which were mainly related to the car park and sports filed. In order to enlarge the space for parking cars, the sport field was entirely removed and placed right next to its previous location, taking one third of the area for the playground. As result, both areas for playing and sport games diminish as the parking grows bigger.
