HELP: IELTS WRITING TASK 1

The bar chart illustrates British charity donation among different age groups in the years 1990 and 2010.

Overall, the public funding for charity in both years experienced fluctuations, yet over-35 people had the tendency to give more money than those under.

The years of 1990 and 2010 agreed on the youngest age group ranging from 18 to 25 years old to come last in the donation list. Moreover, the proportion for this group declined over time from 17% in 1990 down to 7% in 2010. At the same time, there was a change in the most generous group of the 2 years. In 1990, people who were from 36 to 50 years old accounted for the highest percentage of donors which was 42%, meanwhile the position was switched to 51-65 year old group in 2010 with a slightly smaller rate of 39%.

Within one year, the donating rate also witnessed a similar variation. In 1990, the proportion of charity donors rose from the youngest group to the 36 - 50 group where it peaked at 42%. 2010 went through the same trend but the highest point was marked at 39% for the age group of 51 to 65 years old. After reaching the tops, the generosity rate went down for older groups in both years.
