HELP IELTS WRITING TASK 1
The map illustrates how an area gets flooded and two proposals for solving this problem.
There are 3 areas surronding the intersection of river A and river B. The commercial building are located on one side of river B which looks straight at where river A flows into river B. From here, the industrialpart is on the right side of river A, facing the residential area across the river. They are all inside the flooding region, and there have been 2 remedies for them so far.
The first solution involvesremoving the park, the neighborhood and the building further away the river banks to avoid the overflowing water. This activity is environment friendly yet probably expensive.
People also suggest building dams to block the water which spills out of 2 reservoirs on river A and river B. The two dams are constructed right outside of the inundated area so that the waterflow will run peacefully through the place without harming it. The upside part of this plan is low expenditure, however, it may pose negative effect on the land.
