If I had to choose one thing that is very important in my life, it would be sports. Sports
has helped me get through a lot of problems in my life. When I feel depressed, I turn on the
television to watch one of my favorite teams play. It helps me feel better and takes my
mind off of the issue that are bothering me. Before I began watching sports, my siblings and I
argued frequently, but when we would watch a baseball game, it brought us together as a family
and I really enjoyed that.

An exciting moment in my life was my twenty- first birthday. I traveled to New York
City and went to Yankees' Stadium. For the first time in my life, I got to watch my favorite
professional baseball team play.

I have a passion for sports. Ever since I was young, I knew that I wanted to work in a
career that had something to do with sports. When I was in the seventh grade, I saw an ESPN
commercial, I knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I have
sacrificed a great deal for my future career: deciding to study for a test instead of going to a party
with my friends, studying for long periods of time, and volunteering at a radio station during
the summer instead of traveling.

The most important person in my life is my best friend Lydia. Before I met Lydia, I was
an average student who loved to get in trouble. She made me realize that
school was important and that I should try harder to do better. I took Lydia's advice
and now take school very seriously. She also helps me when I feel sad or mad about something.
She calms me down and makes me realize that the problem is really nothing to be sad or angry about.

The one thing that happened in my life that changed me was when my mom moved to
California. Before, if I needed something done she was the first person I called. Now that she has
moved, I have to do more things on my own now making me more responsible and an adult. I
think that it made me realize that I could not rely on my mother to do everything for me, and that
I would have to grow up and act as an adult.
