Help, google misleading?

Which one is correct?

My willingness to work very hard make me a strong candidate for a position...

or

My willingness to work very hard should make me a strong candidate for a position...

The first one sounds ackward but most sample resumes I found on Google worded it like that. Whats wrong with putting "should" or "would" before the word "make"? I mean Im not working for the company yet so it should be "should" as it should happen in the future. Am I right?

Thanks...and im new here...Emotion: smile

The first is more common in resumes because it is more positive ('makes', not 'make', though). Using 'should' or 'would' is more tentative-- not the kind of image you want to present to a prospective employer.
