Hello. Thanks for reading my post, this is a replying email I were writing to my previous lecturer, thus I hope it sounds appropriate it terms of tones and grammar! Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi xxx,
It's my first year not celebrating Chinese New Year at home, somehow will feel a bit home sick. However, my friend that went back for new year reunion had brought me back some Chinese New Year cookies, and I'm fortunate enough to have my coursemates that are kind and caring enough, and will always not forget to invite me for any parties they have in their flats! I've also learnt how to cook some desserts to stop my cravings, and this really surprise my family and friends since I never use to do that previously.
The weather here is really unpredictable. So far I've just saw the snow for not more than three times, and they all melt before the next day's sunrise. However, I still manage to build a mini snowman with my housemates outside our flat, and she was really excited about it, cause it's her first time playing with the snow. We can't really enjoy it anyway, as it was the day before my first exams!
Our third week of second semester had already arrived in no time. I'm not too used to it since we usually have holidays after exams, but not for this time. Assignments have started to drown us now, I hope I can do better than last semester!
Warmest greetings to all,
xxx
