I am a senior student applying UTSC (the University of Toronto at Scarborough).

And I will write two articles

1.Describe your leadership and other interests outside of the classroom.

2.Why do you want to attend UTSC?

Hi Zinczl,

I would like to stress a few points regarding the second essay why do you want to attend UTSC.

This question is very common in almost all universities in the United States and Canada and yet,unfortunately the answers pertaining to this question are often very hollow to the eyes of admission officers.

Many students have the tendency to give stereotyped replies like '' I wish to attend this university because it is the most beautiful university I have ever known/it has the best faculty I have ever known/ it has the highest ranking on earth/ the weather is perfect, the university is located in a perfect spot ( I'm not kidding, people have really written these things before).'' The admission officers get eye sores reading such stereotyped replies.

This question looks deceptively simple to answer in 10 minutes but in fact it is a good advice to do a thorough research to answer why you chose this particular university when there were so many others you could have chosen. Since our dear internet is ever obliging to share information, the perfect place to find your answer would be in your chosen university's website itself.

If you're applying for a Bachelor course, you are expected to tell them what are you going to do after that for Masters. If you don't have a clear idea as to what you want to do after a Masters, it's ok but the admission people will definitely be impressed if you have already set a path for what you want to do in another 10 years.

If you're applying for Masters, you have no option but to tell them what you plan to do with this degree and how your chosen university is going to help you in setting your destined career.

A good researched answer coupled with few drops of flattery is the perfect blend to your admission success.

Actually ,I always tell what about the university appear, so, essay got lower mark.
If I tell more about my target during few years after, what would I say, as I don't have any scheme about what I could do.
