It is important to learn English to know other cultures customs. Although some people oppose the globalization of English, there is some evidence the future status of English as a global language.

Opponents of an English globalization claim English did not become more dominant than mother tongue in every place in their country. However, some studies show the English language occupied their original language. Even though English does not integrate completely into some societies, there are some mixed languages between country native language and English. For example, young people use the latest technologies to communicate with other young people around the world. Also, in different cultures used most common English dialect in daily life conversations. Furthermore, some country’s public schools have required courses of English in primary school. Therefore, English will spread gradually until it becomes dominant in the world.

Opponents also said that there are many websites in different languages rather than English that make the future status of English, as the global language is not assured. For example, in the early years of the Internet, it was dominated by sites in English, but in recent years there has been a proliferation of non-English sites, especially Spanish, German, French, Japanese and others. In addition, the most famous electronic companies launched a version of their applications and websites to convince some native languages for some countries. However, even thought that is true, English continued to become a strong language on the Internet. The first appearance of the Internet associated with English is all web links were written in English in different countries. So, all domain names of websites are reserved, and it is impossible to use other languages as a domain name. Also, the basic computer programs and operating systems are written in English. Therefore, it is difficult to use some programs written in other languages to be compatible with the original language.

The final argument presented by opponents is the appearance of a new popular language in the next years to take the place of the English language. However, English today is more popular than before because the world became like a small village, and many people wanted to explore other cultures through language such as English. Also, it considers formal communication language in the workplace in many countries to do work in advanced way. Moreover, many companies require English perfection to hire new employees. In addition, many popular companies in the U.S export their products to the world; so to get more information or maintenance, one should be referred to the original company language to be a benefit from these products. Therefore, the English language’s future status is assured.

It should be evident that the arguments against the future status of English as a global language are not valid. English will become a universal language in the world. Furthermore, English is a technology language and an age language too. So, it should be spread in many countries to be the universal language. English language considered as communication language between most people. As a result, the English language still dominates more than other languages in the world.
