Help: Do I need a comma after Russia and France?

Wassily Kandinsky was born in Moscow, Russia on December 16,1866, and died in France on December 13, 1944.

It's a style thing. I would put it, the same way I would enclose a state name with commas. Brunswick, Maine, is a lovely town.

  • However, you can probably omit "Russia" entirely - although there is a Moscow in Maine, most people will assume you mean Russia.

However, you can probably omit "Russia" entirely - although there is a Moscow in Maine, most people will assume you mean Russia.
