  • H E L P!
  • , DAY, A DOG HOUSE The dog sits in the house, looking unhappily out at the rain.
  • If it's an abbreviated slug line, it's the same: THE LIVING ROOM The dog sits in the living room by the window, looking unhappily out at the rain.
  • Now, if you're talking about that weird-*** format where you make the first words of certain sentences into a sort of abbreviated pseudo-slug line then I would do it like this: THE DOG - - pulls out a semi-automatic and starts spraying the room with white-head lead whilst barking hysterically.

I'm not exactly what you mean by "secondary headings"

If you're talking about a main slug line, it goes like this:

INT., DAY, A DOG HOUSE
The dog sits in the house, looking unhappily out at the rain.

Now just a second, Neal. That is really non-standard, and you know it!

It's much more usul standard in fact to do this:

INT. A DOG HOUSE - DAY
This business with the commas is all you, and only you, I think. And the time of day before the location is unusual.
