Help Breaking Down a Sentence

"The soul, or essence, of a newborn child is deposited into a woman selected according to whatever process the supreme diviner of life arranges."

I'm trying to understand the grammar structures in this sentence. Am I correct in believing that "selected according to ... [end of sentence[" is a participle phrase (an adjective) describing the noun woman? The participle of course is selected with the prepositional phrase according to whatever process acting as an adverb of "how"? In the prepositional phrase according to is the preposition and "whatever process the supreme ..." is a noun clause acting as the object of the preposition? I'm just not sure how to relate "the supreme diviner of life arranges" to the rest of the sentence.

Also, the "or essence" is an appositive that renames the noun soul, correct? Am I also correct in thinking that "is deposited" is not valid and I need to correct the verb tense here? With the verb tense fix is this a grammatically correct sentence?

Thanks so much!

This is how I analyze it: This is a passive voice sentence. " The verb is "is deposited," and is in passive voice. " The phrase "into a woman" is adverbial and modifies the verb.

This is how I analyze it:

The subject is "The soul or essence."

The prepositional phrase "of a newborn child" is adjectival and modifies "The soul or essence."

The verb is "is deposited," and is in passive voice. You're essentially saying "is deposited by ***."

The phrase "into a woman" is adverbial and modifies the v
