Help!

Clive

Tomorrow is Rakesh's wedding party, He invited both of his friends, Ali and Ram, despite knowing that Ali and Ram never get along with each other. Ali responded saying he will come to the party but Ram said he is not coming because he needs to go to work and his boss didn't give him a day off. As far as I know that Ram's boss is a nice guy. It would mean that Ram could have taken a day off and he didn't ask for it because he didn't want to come to the party.

Did I use 'would mean' correctly and it is tentative and deductive? No, the phrase just doesn't sound natural there. I'd say 'I think that . . . ' or 'Ram could probably have . . . '.

Thank you so much for taking your time. Can you please give me one example with context with 'would mean' that shows tentativeness, please? I would really appreciate. Please help me understand how to use it correctly. I can't think of an example to get checked.
