anonymousI know I am a grammar freak. ?? but do you think I am understanding these sentences the way I am supposed to? I meant the correct way?

Looking at your posts in the last month or so, I have the feeling that you understand some of them well, others not so well. That's to be expected until you get more experience reading, writing, listening to, and speaking English.

I think you are overthinking some of these sentences. Don't force yourself to understand every detail. Try topics other than 'would' for a while and then come back to it later. Sometimes our brains need a rest from thinking about the same thing all the time.

I will take you suggestion, Sir. But you see, I figured out the difference between the sentences below.

1) I thought he would let you know about it.
2) I thought he would’ve let you know about it.

In sentence 1, letting you know happened after the thinking and in sentence 2, letting you know happened before the thinking. ????
