Help!

You need to get your parent signature.

Does it mean signature of your mother or father signature? Could it mean either mother or father? I am trying to figure out the meaning of parent. Thanks.

anonymous You need to get your parent signature. Yes, "parent" means either mother or father, but the sentence is incorrect. It should be "You need to get your parent's signature" (assuming only one signature is required).
