This sentence is correct.If this sentence is correct, why is this sentence not correct; the sentence is, I know how that apartment is; I have been living here. The first sentence means I was listening to the teacher but I am not listening to the teacher at the moment but the second sentence means I was living in the apartment and I still live there at the moment. Why is that?

That sentence is not correct. This sentence is correct:

I know how to solve every mathematics problem because I have been listening to the teacher carefully.

You could still be listening as you speak; there is no way to judge for sure. Listening to a teacher is not such a long process.
