How can you sew something onto a uniform and expect to get that thing "back"? It's been sewn to the uniform!
I don't understand the context you have in mind. Please describe it in more detail.

This could mean:

1. I had the shirt and it had my rank and number sewed/sewn on.
2. I gio someone to sew the rank and number on my uniform.

It's not possible to tell which is meant without more context.

Suppose somebody asks me where my uniform is. So can I say, I had them sewed on and I am picking the uniforms on Thursday?

Assuming you had a tailor sew the name and rank on your uniform, the following exchange might take place:

A: Where's your uniform?

B: I had to have my name and rank sewn on it. I'm picking it up on Thursday from the tailor.
