simpleseasub I ate yesterday./Yesterday I ate. Which one is correct and why?
Both are possible.

I ate yesterday has the usual word order. I ate is the important part. The focus is on what you did.
Yesterday I ate has the less usual order. Yesterday is the important part. The focus is on that day's activities.
