Is the following sentence grammaticaly correct or could it be replaced with something better:

-I had been waiting for a good event to happen until (the moment when) I saw her entering the room.

I had been waiting for something good to happen when I saw her enter the room. (You can look up the lyrics to "Tonight" from "West Side Story" to have it in a more poetic form: Today, all day I had a feeling, a mircale would happen, I know now I was right.
