Please remember to use the capital letter I as a pronoun in English.

The standard pattern is to go [verb]ing. I am going shopping. I went shopping.

Both are fine.

I am at the office - to suggest that you are working (in the office)

I am in the office - you are literally in your room (your own office)

But in general, if soemone asked you on the phone: "where are you now?"

Either answer can deliver the meaning with no problem.
