Does the two paragraphs follow these directions

This is just a fancy term for describing how you would evaluate

the book's strengths and weaknesses based on what you read.

It is particularly important that you write from the view point that

your reader does not know anything about the book that you

are reviewing. Try to refrain from making very general evaluative

statements without backing them up with evidence or examples

from the text. In essence, you are telling an uninformed reader

why the book would or would not be of any historical value.

Eleanor’s strengths were her compassion for other and her open mindedness. Eleanor showed her compassion to everyone that she met. She did not like to see people hurt or suffering especially soldiers. When Eleanor went visit hospitals where men were hurt badly because of war, it deeply affected her. She had a way of knowing exactly what to say to the wounded soldiers and was basically like a mother to them. The best example of Eleanor compassion was when a soldier was being kept alive by blood plasma and tubular feeding. The soldier had lost the will to live, but he started to recover when Eleanor like a mother kiss him. Some of the soldiers simply wanted someone would talk and listen to them. She volunteer at local canter where soldiers line up for basic necessities like food, newspapers, postcards and stamps because she wanted them to have something to be happy about, and simply to show them that somebody loved and cared for them. She also had compassion for blacks and women. She wanted all people to have equal rights and be treated the same. She especially wanted women to be more than house wives. She was known as a friend of the poor and oppressed. Another strength for Eleanor was her open mindedness. She would always listen to everyone ideas and opinions. She never just went with her own ideas, she would listen to everyone ideas. Eleanor welcomed new and different ideas.

Eleanor weakness probably was all the deaths in her life and not be able to raise her. I believe the worst thing that happen had to deal with was all the deaths in her family. She lost nearly everyone that she was close too. The death of her father was probably the worst. Eleanor loved her dad and did not want him to drink so much. She did not see her father Elliot as a drunk, she saw him as a loving father. Even when Elliot died, Eleanor still imagined that they would spend time together. I believe all the deaths in her family were a weakness because no one could deal with all of those deaths at a young age. Everyone one that she got close to died and this was not a good thing for a young girl to be dealing with. Another weakness for Eleanor was the fact that she could not raise up her children. She was basically dependant on nurses to take care of her children. She eventually learn, but Eleanor blamed herself for the death of one of her children because he was not breast feeded.

In conclusion, I think that Eleanor Roosevelt was a great woman. She did many things to help women and minorities. Eleanor was a smart and intelligent woman who just wanted a peaceful world for all of us. People admired Eleanor simply because she cared about people. It did not matter if you were rich or poor, she would show you respect, and I admire her for that. Eleanor had a tough childhood, but she overcame it and became an American hero. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about the life of Eleanor Roosevelt. This book has a historical value because it tells us about the life of one of the greatest ladies of all time.
