Help!

Hi everybody,

Please could somebody clarify whether the below use of into as opposed to in to is correct:

I will definitely be looking to try and get back into xxx (name of company)

I hear "into" much more frequently than "in" in this context.

If I say, "I'm having trouble getting my car back into gear," it would be a toss-up between "in" and "into."

Hi Andy,

Just noticed I misread your question. Thought the choice was between "into" and "in," rather than "into" and "in to." Sorry! I'm not really into this particular distinction.
