I get really confused sometimes, when I speak about animals.

I really dont know if I should point the dog's name or the dog with it or with he? Also is it which dog do you like the most, or whose dog...

If you know the dog's ***, use "he" or "she," at least with an American, because we tend to be a little nuts about our pets. If you don't know, then use "it."

"Which dog" says to me what breed of dog, or which of those dogs in front of you. If you say "whose dog," I would have to know the owner of each of the dogs in question in order to answer to question.
