Help

Sir,

1. I helped mummy bake them(biscuits or bread).

2. I helped mummy to bake them.

I read (1) in a text book. But at the same time, I have read that the verb "help" is used as

Subject +object+to-infinitive.

I helped mummy to bake them.

Please help me out from such confusing stage.

Thanks.
