Help

I was recently told by an examiner that I needed to read voraciously Western contemporary authors to be really good in editing English articles. I need to know what method I should follow while reading to really improve my English and grammar . I do a lot of reading mainly newspapers and periodicals. What should I be looking for? . How should I read and what authors should I be reading. Where can i rally read thes authors on the web. I need help quickly . Thanks in advance. Please reply immediately.
