The illustration shows the layout of an airport at present and its possible changes after next year’s redevelopment.
We can see that the airport site is divided into two main sections - the departures and arrivals areas, and those basic features, together with the security, customs, and passport controls, are not going to change. Besides, the airport will be extended significantly in the year to come as there will be more facilities.
The most noticeable change will be in the number of gates leading to the inner part of the airport. Currently, there are eight gates, but next year, the number will grow to 18 gates. There is a walking path for passengers between the gates; however, it is going to be replaced with a new sky train. Also, new shops will be put up next to the security area.
As for the area inside the departures and arrivals rooms, several features will be introduced after next year’s development. The airport will witness the repositioning of two facilities which are the check-in desk and the coffee shop in the departures area. Additionally, a new bag drop area will be constructed to the north west corner of the departures room, while a number of new facilities will be added to the arrivals room - a cafe, a car-hire reception, and an ATM.
