Hello! I want to know what this sentence means

Hello Emotion: smile

ocasionally, i study english through watching american drama such as "The Office" with English subtitle

and i found one sentence that i can't understand

the sentence is "Jim got us a great lead with a new rep. from ~~company"

i don't know what "got us a great lead" means

i tried to search similar sentence on google to see how this sentence is used but i couldn't find Emotion: sad

is this expression spoken frequently among english people?
