I am hereby wishing to apply for your Doctoral student position in Environmental and Energy Engineering program, as advertised on the scholarship website. The idea of studying in Karlstad University has great appeal as your research on clean technologies is something that I particularly admire and value.

I graduated in Applied Chemistry in 2000 from Tehran Azad University, Iran. During my final year of graduation, I was worked in laboratory of Pakshoo Company, where I have had a great deal of laboratory experience (water sampling and testing in both indoor and in the field).

Thereafter, I intend to apply my knowledge of chemistry towards a career in the energy industry. In 2002, I employed in Energy Tadbir Company (Oil &Gas Consulting Engineers Company). By working there I had the opportunity to gain relevant technical skills in testing and monitoring water quality and provided an understanding of contaminants such as soil, groundwater, sediment or surface water for the general protection of human health.

In 2003, I was admitted in Tehran Azad University in field of Environmental Pollution and Protection with first place in entrance examination.

Once I completed my degree in 2005, I focused my professional career on the Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment in one of the well-known Iranian Consulting Engineering Company named Sazabpardazan Company. I became very interested in sustainable development, its principles and associated tools that allow the evaluation of potential risks and their prevention.I have a proven track record in developing efficient, targeted water saving programs, implementing successful waste management initiatives and applying research to create effective sustainability projects.In addition, I have achieved solid working experience in field of fire fighting management in north of Iran forests.

I have recently been involved for CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) program in two projects; Relationship between forestry and the Clean Development Mechanism, Therefore Forestation or reforestation projects, which are combine agro-forestry, sustainable harvesting or other sustainable activities with the generation and sale of Certified Emission Reductions under the CDM were considered in this study. And the second one is Hydro electric power plants impact assessment in association with CDM program to sale of CER

I am a dynamic and motivated team member with excellent analytical, interpersonal and problem management skills. In my current role as environmental project manager at Sazabpardazan Company, I am responsible for research projects, managing a team of scientists and external contractors, analyzing data and writing reports.

My plans now are to continue my education to accomplish as much as possible in clean technologies and your position seems to be filling all my interests. The international acclamation, strong international network and the innovative work being done at Karlstad University appeal me to join this institute so that I can have the opportunity of getting the most advanced and highly refined knowledge of this field that will be surely a great head start for my professional career.
