Essay & Composition Writing

Hello, I really need a help for this essay. Thank you a lot!

Topic: Some people think that school children need to learn practical skills such as car maintenance or bank account management along with the academic subjects at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

On account of the more and more competitive life, the attention paid to the learning of practical skills of children has increasingly soared for a few decades. A school of thought believes that such skills should be taught at school along with all other subjects. In my perspective, I just partly agree with that for several reasons.

To begin with, school children do not need to take this seriously. It does depend on the individual's preferences. That is to say, not all students have an interest in learning how to deal with daily life incidents and they just want to concentrate totally on their academic aspects. Therefore, it could be even a time-consuming lecture and not a practical one for them. Moreover, these skills do not take a long period to obtain. Students can learn how to keep a car and how to manage a bank account from their parents or even the internet, which takes them just about several minutes or hours. For those reasons, it seems like that learning those skills at school is not necessary.

Nevertheless, children need to expose to these practical skills for several reasons. First, these are as essential as the academic knowledge for their later future. In other words, they can help children to well handle numerous situations happening on a daily basis, which is the thing that such a science lecture fails to do. For instance, when their car got fire on the road surprisingly, Maths formulas or Physics properties can not tell the children what to do, but those practical skills they have learnt can tackle it. Therefore, when it comes to down-to-earth situations, these skills are an extremely crucial part that assists students a lot.

To conclude, I think that it is important for children to gain realistic skills along with academic knowledge. However, it should be learned outside the school framework.
