Bicycle, advantageous as it may be is not regularly chosen as a mean of transportation. The reasons lead to this phenomenon will be analysed below.

There are 2 dominant factors that explain why bicycle is not a popular vehicle nowadays. In many countries, there is no lane only for bicycles which means riding a bike can be a bit risky. With lots of cars and automobiles surround, bicycles are seemingly not an ideal transport. Secondly, although using bicycles does wonder to one's health, it os obvious that other vehicles can save up tons of time traveling to a destination. Since mordern people are getting more and more busy, a car would be a better selection.

However, there are still ways to swtich people's behavior to using bicycles. Creating lanes only for bicycle riders can be a solution. In hours of traffic congestion, chances are people would be able to escape long lines of cars and motorbikes if they go to work by bikes. Moreover, raising the cost of petrol can also cut down on the number pf cars and motorbikes effectively. Therefore, this would gradually change people's daily transport to public vehicles or bicyles.

In conclusion, although there are not so many in-use bikes nowadays, it is possible for government to come up with policies to encourage more people using bicycles.
