The life is like a song, some high notes, some low notes, ups and downs, successes and failures, beautiful memories and sad ones. If i had an eraser which can erase memories, i would erase all of sorrows, failures but just keep one: my childhood.
One has his/her own chilhood, though it’s happy or not and so do I. I had a poor but desirable childhood. I was born and grown up in a quiet village where the influence of the city is not much. It’s a small village with a population of about 80 people. In my village, people live very close to each other. The people are very simple in thought and behavior. Therefore, they are very friendly and helpful. I love them very much.
When i was a child, I lived with my mother and my grandmother. My family was very poor but full of love and laughter. I missed my mother’s meals. I missed the summer noons when my grandmother lulled me to sleep. Athough it was very hot, my grandmother tried to fan me with the bamboo tape fan. I misssed the afternoons, when i and the children gathered in the dyke to fly kites. These kites were not beautiful as ones we saw in the store because they were handmade. However, they were our happy and we reputed them as our most valuable thing we had. I also missed the winter evenings. It was very cold, so it crossed to our mind that we need little fire to keep warm. We picked up straws, leaves, papers and any thing which was flammable, gathered and burned them. Besides, we used this fire to bake sweet potatoes and corns. Our farmiliar games at night were hide-and- seek and blind-man’s-buff. After the dinner, we gathered in front of the communal house. We played passionately to such an extent that we forgot about the time. Our game just finished when our parents asked us to come back home and it was usually the mid-night. The childhood of rural children like us was connected closely with many traditional games, it was a succession of days we shared every pleasures, sorrows and difficulties in our life. Maybe what we received was simply a smile, a huge or an encouragement but it was really worthy. All of this made a memorable childhood. With me, the chilhood is like a motive power, which helps me overcome difficulties. Now, i live in a business city so i have many things to worry about. I don’t have much time to come back to visit my hometown. I hate the hustle and bustle of this country, i just want to move out of town to live in my village. Needless to say, i love my country as much as i love my family, so no matter where i live, i always save the childhood memory in my heart.
