My essay:

The line graph illustrated the amount of acid rain emissions which were produced by for different sectors in the UK from 1990 to 2007.

It can be seen from the graph that the total amount of acid rain emissions in the UK decreased significantly over years. The most dramatic decrease was noticed in the electricity, gas and water supply sector.

In 1990, around 3.3 million tones of acid rain emissions came from electricity, gas and water supply sector. The transport and communication sector was responsible for about 0.7 million tons of emissions, while domestic sector gave the part of 0.6 million tones. Just over 2 million tones of acid raid gases came from other industries.

17 years later, emissions from electricity, gas and water supply dropped dramatically to only 0.5 million tones, over 6 times smaller than before. Besides, the acid rain gases from the domestic sector and other industries decreased gradually, the transport sector saw a light increase in emissions and reached the peak of 1 million tones in 2005.
