Hello, can you read my diary entry about migrant worker and improve it please?

Diary Entry
I am crestfallen. Today was a disheartening day, so disheartening that my heart feels like it is shattered into pieces. A few days ago, I decided to travel to California, the place where I thought I would find a job, any job. I tried to hitch hike and stood on the road, as I got terribly wet and cold; I waited and waited, became wetter and colder by the drizzling rain as the cars whirled out of my sight. I assume self-seeking people would avoid an outcast like me in outskirts but fortuitously, a generous man befriended me to California.
For the third day running, I have been seeking for an employment everywhere but they turned their backs constantly as I started to feel apprehensive. I quietly whispered to myself that everything, everything would be perfect even though the whole world knew that it was an enormous lie. I can not get a job, I can not be able to earn money and I can not feed myself because I pleaded for an employment to every people as I got down on my knee, crossed my legs and expressed my writhe in pain but their cold heart declared the answer ‘no', ‘no' and ‘no'/
I made a bed out of wooden boxes and bedding out of pieces of cardboard and old metal. There are puddles and rubbish everywhere. I could not get to sleep because the wind was fierce, whistling between trees as it started picking up the leaves of the floor. As I stared at the shining and glittering stars in the sky, I was dreaming that if I work hard, I could be successful; I was only trying to think about The American Dream but my mind was bombarding me with an army of thoughts. For me, it is not the end of the world but only the beginning of a new thing.
