Hello alc24

Hi,

I hope you don't mind if I offer you some general comments and advice, based on my experience as a teacher. Emotion: smile

You are posting huge numbers of queries, in the general form of 'Are these sentences correct?' My understanding is that these are written by your friend, whom you are helping with his/her English.

I don't see any real pattern reflected in what these sentences deal with, nor do I see any sign that your friend is making progress with the language. I don't believe this is the best way for you to help. It's like teaching a class by simply saying every day to your students, "Please write some sentences and then I'll correct them for you". That just won't work.

Instead, your friend needs structured lessons which include clear explanations by the teacher of the points being addressed. These lessons should focus on one main aspect of the language at a time, should include lots of specific exercises for practice, and should not move on until it is seen that some understanding has been achieved.

Because I don't see any real focus or progression in your friend's sentences, I must admit that I am losing interest in answering your posts. I am only a volunteer here, as are we all, so I need to feel that my time is well spent. I also prefer to correspond directly with the person who needs help. Other people here, of course, may feel differently about this.

What do you think about the points I have discussed?

Best wishes, Clive
