Hello)

I have one question, can you tell what tense is better to use here: Past simple or Present Perfect? Thank you for your help in advance!

1. Hello! Thank you for emailing me. The accident happened suddenly, and I wasn't expecting to be dismissed. However, it happened. On Friday at work I insulted my boss!

2. Hello! Thank you for emailing me. The accident has happened suddenly, and I wasn't expecting to be dismissed. However, it has happened. On Friday at work I insulted my boss!
