Hello!

Can someone help me to combine or connect these too topics - Discussion and Communication. I am writing an essay about Communication, but the main topic is discussion, so I need to somehow connect these topic so it would make sense. All that I have written is "Because these two words are really similar, to discuss something, no matter what you have to communicate, at least somehow,even a little." but I need to write something more,something that will make more sense.

For example,
You can't communicate with a rock. That is why you cannot discuss any topic, no matter how simple, with a rock.
