hear vs see

Hi,

I am just wondering about which one to use, is it "heard from the news" or is it "saw on the news"?

Thanks in advance.

" If it's TV or Internet news, you could use either one. You might be more likely to use "saw" if you actually saw pictures of the event and "heard" if it was just a newscaster talking about the event, but really you could use either one.

Well, obviously, if it's news on the radio you would say "heard." If it's TV or Internet news, you could use either one. You might be more likely to use "saw" if you actually saw pictures of the event and "heard" if it was just a newscaster talking about the event, but really you could use either one.
